I still love playing my priest. It's a common thing for people to prefer paladins over priests at the lower levels. That somehow changes as you get higher.
Anyone here on the test server and playing in Dire Maul? It's too easy... I was hoping that it would be far more of a challenge. Still, my new devout armor looks sweet. By the way.. with the improved inner fire talent, a priest has about as much armor as a leather wearer. A priest can take far more of a beating than any other cloth class, by using heals and shielding and inner fire. Go talk to mages if you wanna complain about cloth wearers being killed by a butter knife . |

My e-pen0s in no way feels threatened. I just felt you were portraying priests in a rather incorrect light giving an overall bad impression to people of the class. This isnt EQ . Priests have many useful abilities in groups. Shadow line is just a few of them. Most priests I have met dont even bother with Mind Control. It sucks. It usually lasts a half a second. And its required to be channeled so its not worth casting. Except under rare circumstances you have another healer and need some form of crowd control.
The Power Word: SHield line absolutely makes mages decimate creatures with their AOES. With just 8 Discipline talents a priest can fire one off every 15 seconds. Honestly, I'm surprised you can find alot of priests who like to sit back and watch health bars. Because it is by far the most boring aspect of WoW. Sure I'll do it. The few instances where its exciting to keep a bunch of people alive are offset by 95% of the time when your just droning heals for people in boring instances. Are you even doing high end instances? I dont see how if your priest is taking shadow form.

we are doing 40+ instances at the moment since our group is 40+ the priest gets a bollocking whenever we find out he is in shadow form and not healing. To be honest if a priest doesn't want to heal in a group he should have picked a mage. Priests are very useful if the people in our group decide to play them correctly and don't screw around, otherwise they just slow our group up. Mind control is funny to watch but in a instance it gives the priest a insane amount of aggro that I have to pull off them, usually after one taunt it goes right back to attacking him. I just don't have a good impression of priests at the moment
![]() When it comes to "control" of a crowd I generally do that, the rest attack me while the rest of the group concentrates on one at a time as I buff the group and sunder the enemy, while occasionally throwing a whirlwind or two in there. ![]()

Ugh, I don't know where you got the impression that priests suck, vamp - it's almost retarded to go into a 45+ instance without one (unless you have a high level escort). Sure, you can *manage* with a Pally but a good Priest is by far the keystone in any instance. Zul'farrak and Maraudon would have been practically impossible without a priest and later on in the raid instances they are required.
Like I said, this really only applies once you start doing high level instances and areas, like 47+. Besides, speaking of class roles, it sounds like you want to be meat shield and DPS at the same time. Most people prefer warriors to stay in DS and spam Sunder and Taunt since their DPS is mostly mediocre compared to rogues and mages later on.

And all those assumptions are based on what? Whirlwind is a great way of keeping the attention of the group by causing damage to 4 of them, I do a lot of stance shifting to use whatever keeps aggro the best. If a taunt fails I switch to combat and use mocking blow. Trust me this works, I rarely ever lose aggro from the attacking mobs. I do enough damage in defence stance to keep me happy and keep wearing down the mob.
Now if people wish to engage the little section of their brain that is required for actually reading (do it!). You will see I said my impression of priests is not good because of past experiences and I acknowledged they are useful if played correctly. As for Zul'farrak the only time the priest was needed was at the pyramid, and even then it was a massacre(for the mobs). So to recap, priest = good if played correctly, crap if not. And I have been frustrated by priests screwing around too often. As for "keystone" pretty much every class is the key in a well balanced group, without a couple of tanks the instance will be over fairly quickly. Now imagine yourself as the meatshield in a group, holding the aggro while the others wear down one at a time. Several elites beating the hell out of you....and the priest does not heal. Would that not annoy you ever so slightly? ![]()

My main quest partner for green and yellow quest is a priest. While I love having him with me, most the time I do all the work but I like it that way. He gets pissed when I pull a mob and then marvels how I pull it out killing 4 lvl 30s LOL. I do need him but it is still a kick to watch him squirm. Now if we can just some how get priests to stop pressing the DUMB BUTTON when they get attacked. Why is it they always run aroun like chickens with their heads cut off? I say STOP RUNNING! they say I CANT THEY ARE ON ME. I say JUST DIE IF YOU HAVE TO, we can come and do it again. The point is we have a better chance of getting through that rough patch if they would not run around agro all of creation. LOL! Other than that I won't go on a quest with out a priest. They save us from long treck back from the grave yard.

I got lvl 30 almost lvl 31 now with my shaman. I love his new axe, the corpsemaker from RFK! and in less than 1 more level i can use the pronged cleaver which is 24dps, that's only 5less dps than my 2h axe. But to my story; i went and tried my axe pvp style with windfurry, and i must say, it kicks ASS! I think for PvP i'll use the axe even though it's only 28.9dps and my axe which is 1h is 24dps, because the massive dps i put out when windfurry procs.

LOL I know ur kidding but the thing I hate is non class against class dueling. There is NO defence against spells. We can take psysical damage but we are defenceless against spells. I really hate it when a priest and other thing they are so hot because they beat a warrior. OK get rid of the spells and lets fight. The reply is "Well with out the spells i am defenceless" EXACTLY! With out protection against spells we are defenceless. It makes complete sense to me to duel with in your own classes.
