Default Kernel 3.10 vs NVidia driver

How do I get the ndivia driver to work on kernel 3.10?

Right now I am running kernel 3.9.11 and NVidia 319.32 (X64). My vga is a GeForce 8400 GS PCIe.

Booting kernel 3.10 I run into trouble:

319.32 doesn't compile any more. 325.15 compiles, but X11 doesn't start and I get this error:

[ 168.101] (EE) NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving
[ 168.102] (EE) NVIDIA(0): interrupts generated by the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:2:0:0.
[ 168.102] (EE) NVIDIA(0): Please see Chapter 8: Common Problems in the README for
[ 168.102] (EE) NVIDIA(0): additional information.
[ 168.102] (EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!
[ 168.102] (EE) NVIDIA(0): Failing initialization of X screen 0

I don't know how many times I had this situation: new kernel, no working NV driver. But this time is the last time! I will never ever use a vga by NV again. I will get another VGA next week that doesn't need special drivers. I am really annoyed about this and I am beginning to understand why Linus showed the finger towards NVidia.

I know that there is nouveau, but if I use that driver, I get a slide show instead of a working desktop.

Maybe you should blame Linux kernel developers who break kernel API every now and then.
