Crossfire is usable with 2 Cards, everything also looks ridiculous compared to SLI

This problem arises in bi-GPU and is growing in tri-GPU. The fact that AMD finally allows the creation of personal profiles CrossFireX is a step in the right direction, but it is insufficient. If the situation is not perfect on the side of Nvidia, these problems are less common profiles and generally resolved more quickly.
The second problem is the uneven pace of displaying images in multi-GPU, either with 2 or 3 cards, making it difficult to really enjoy the performance of these graphics systems. Why have a system capable of computing 60 frames per second at 5760x1080 in Battlefield 3 if the flow is felt rather than 20 fps? We do not know exactly where does this, but it seems recurrent in this resolution. Insufficient bandwidth links CrossFireX to transfer images of this size? Synchronization difficult to manage when the rendering time is much higher than the CPU processing time? A lack of work on the combination CrossFire X and surround systems? Is this an inherent limitation to multi-GPU today? Or problem can be corrected by future drivers?"

Better fix current Fermi drivers instead of bashing the competition. Because the current state of NV drivers is a disaster and im talking in general here. Jitter, stutter, frame skipping, downclocking, TDRs and what not lol

I tend to give unbiased professional reviewers much more attention because they have no agenda as they receive parts from all firms, and bench so many cards they get good at it.

There are at least 5 topics about TDR on nvidia forum, downclocking and all that sheit that's been dragging on for ever..



I can name you 5 from me, not a big deal but still its lame..

1) mouse lag
2) mouse jitter in certain games if you dont use 75hz (mostly 290.xx)
3) can cause bsod on older lga 775 sockets (puts higher pressure on ram and pcix, i customer had to raise memory timings, it was fine with older driver or any driver so far until 290.37 - 290.53)
4) Ambient Occlusion latency issue - can cause camera/mouse jitter (mostly at 8xmsaa, its ok at 16xqaa)
5) stutter in certain games, mostly streaming issue with U3E games
6) poor AA at certain angles and in certain newer games (mostly Unreal engine, since 280.xx)
7) physx 2.x.x is bad with its poor optimization, still.. And yet nvidia keeps pushing it down our..., instead of moving on to physx 3 already.


others

1) TDR (especially older 260,275, 460, 560gtx or low-budget gpus)
2) scaling issues
3) control panel issues
4) downclocking
5) surround issues
6) SLI stutter in a lot of games
7) 59hz bug
8) 120hz no downclocking bug
9) DPC latency issues, mostly or only 460/560gtx TI (g104/g114)



what they fixed since 270.xx

1) Codemasters EGO engine dx11 crashing (fixed since 285.xx, tnx to me and few at codemasters forums , although its not for SLI with 290.xx)
2) windows 7 boot logo screen artifact distortion (they broke it with 275.xx and it lasted until 290.xx)
3) P-states adaptive apps. bug started with 280.xx, fixed with 285.xx


Yes all is perfect by nvidia.



heh ATI sucks too, but nvidia can more especially with their 460/560gtx gpus - Tnx Jebus lol i didnt buy G104/G114

And here is something extra for you

1. If you're a moderator then why am i saying this to you? you should be aware of current nvidia driver state, and news flash it doesn't looks so good since 258.96+ (this was still with my old 250gts).. All 26x.xx were bad, the only "perfect" driver was 270.90 tesla driver xD..

And now with my 570gtx its 285.xx+. I have this new gpu since April and basically had to wait for 5-6months to say im happy and enjoy it, but now with 290.xx not so much, again.

1.1 Idc about those people, i've been actively following nv drivers over the net since 2007 so i know what i see/have seen or experienced in the past/or now.


2. heh few games, what about newer games or older that worked fine, but now dont anymore because nvidia driver team decided to break something in favor for other stuff -_-

what Im doing here is proving you wrong that its not always greener on the green side.

I like nvidia, but lately not so much anymore, driver team lacks quality..

Last year, we saw many games launched, many of those were AAA titles, and there were issues with CrossFireX support not being available at launch. In fact, sometimes it took AMD a month or more before CrossFireX was working..... is this issue behind us? Apparently not for the 7970 as we still do not have a CFX driver to put together a CrossFireX review.

We have to just sit here with our heads in our hands and wonder why AMD is seemingly trying its best to piss off its customers that spend the most on its retail products; the CrossFireX gamer. We have seen more than a few AMD video card owners openly express that AMD’s lacking driver support is pushing them to not consider an AMD GPU for their next buy. And honestly, it is hard to hold that decision against them.


Remember the days of monthly Catalyst Driver releases? Remember the days of Terry Makedon, the "CatalystMaker" pushing those out? That all seemingly ended when Terry moved to CPU marketing and AMD seems to think that all of those efforts are no longer important. Let’s sit back and see if AMD squanders what could likely be it best GPU ever.

I don't think AMD has the resources to properly support their products anymore, but why they would make moves like shifting Makedon to CPU marketing has even me scratching my head.

What has AMD been doing all this time? Did they lay off all the people who write drivers?! The 7970 has been in development for years- why would it launch without a Crossfire X driver and still not have one?!
