Makes Nvidia guess how fast the HD7970 might end up being, as the higher clocks might allow another 15~20% improvement, now add another 10~20% improvement from driver maturity 6 months from now, and the current 25% gap relative to the GTX580... Suddenly, Nvidia needs to make kepler 50% faster than the GTX580 in gaming just to match it, never mind beating the HD7970 by the usual 20~30% to make it worth people having waited for it in the first place. |

The feature set situation is still in NVs favor. No physx or forced ambient for ATi, no 6+ surround for NV. Ever actually hear of someone doing 6 panels?

No 32x AF for Nv, no tessellation adjustments, no power usage controls, no super sampling, and you need multiple gpus for multiple monitors.

Well it is the first DX11.1 GPU out though, wich adds PRT( partially resident textures), basically DX's version of id software megatexture, and native stereo 3D support, so no more custom solutions on hardware or software for 3D glasses support.....Developers can write support for 3D glasses/displays as they're making the game, not as an afterthought and no longer require 3rd party support at all. So the days of custom solutions have their days numbered.... |

Still on that Physx thing ehh rollo? Why don't you take a wander down the news section of the boards and have a nice look at the two Physx games that came out this year and then tell me how great it is.

Whilst that is true, in all honesty you do need 2 GPU's to run at 5700x1200 or higher at the highest settings for the latest games.
I didn't know that ATI had a setting for 32xAF. That's pretty cool. Do you notice much of a difference. |
