5 minutes till showtime.
IE8 64 bit runs great on my Win 7 install but IE8 32 bit runs kind of slow on some web sites and crashes quite a bit. Here is one site it is really slow on www.apple.com/ipad the pics take a long time to load up with 32 bit IE. I go to the same site with 64 bit IE and it is faster than Oprah downing a case of honey buns. Hopefully IE9 will fix this. Edit: Downloading it now. |

I just got it. You download the x64 version (if you have W7 x64) and it updates the 32 bit version that you have installed as well (default icon is x86).
Anyway, it's fast and pretty clean, but I hate the font rendering. It looks like crap to me. |

Well I have it downloaded but now neither the 32 bit nor the 64 bit will display www.apple.com/ipad correctly lol. The pictures that cycle at the tyop of the page never appear correctly. One picture may show up then the others never download.
Yea I just noticed the fonts and I don't care for it either. Why did they mess with fonts? It is quite a bit faster than IE8 when opening sites. The Sunspider java performance test is a hell of a lot faster for me now too. With IE8 it was scoring crappier than most of the tablets and my computer is no slouch. Score with IE8 was about 4,000ms with IE9 it is 232ms Check your score here http://www.webkit.org/perf/sunspider/sunspider.html 14675ms with the Kraken benchmark found here http://krakenbenchmark.mozilla.org/ |

Anyone else having problem with www.apple.com/ipad? There should be some images at the top center of the page that rotate one after another.

I really like IE9, but is it still missing as you type spell check? I like to keep my gaming machine simple and using the default stuff is the best way, but my spelling is shocking. :
