Hi,
Trying to compile latest NV driver (190.53) after compiling the new 2.6.33 kernel, but it fails with a message saying it can't determine the kernel version. Even tried passing --kernel-source-path, but still get the same behavior. If it matters, other external modules I had to compile, like a VBox driver, have no issues. Nothing much to see in the nvidia-installer.log either |

Read the Forum!
190.53 needs a patch for compiling with 2.6.33. Alternative install the latest beta-driver. |

There is a bug report at Gentoo's bugzilla regarding this. See:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301318 You probably should use the patch from there because the patch someone posted on here a while back has a bug. I just posted a thread about it: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=148296 If I recall correctly, the bug report has a link to the original thread that described how to apply the patch, so you will want to use the instructions in that thread in conjunction with the patch from the Gentoo bugzilla. |
