Hello.
I have an old EVGA GeForce 8800 GT video card's fan in a brand new Antec Sonata Proto mid tower ATX case with two case 120mm case fans, MSI P43 NEO3-F (MSI-7514) motherboard, etc. See http://zimage.com/~ant/antfarm/about/computers.txt for the details for this secondary computer. Also, hardwares were cleaned last night from its dust pileups after about two years of usage. I noticed this video card's fan goes to maximum speed (4,000 RPM) even when my computer is idling. I think its air flow is not good in this new case. I know my old MSI ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB) blows its hot air in the rear, but this NVIDIA card doesn't. Is there a way to mod its cooler to blow out heat? FYI for my system's sensors: $ sensors -f coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 0: +129.2°F (high = +176.0°F, crit = +212.0°F) coretemp-isa-0001 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 1: +125.6°F (high = +176.0°F, crit = +212.0°F) coretemp-isa-0002 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 2: +125.6°F (high = +176.0°F, crit = +212.0°F) coretemp-isa-0003 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 3: +132.8°F (high = +176.0°F, crit = +212.0°F) f71882fg-isa-0a00 Adapter: ISA adapter +3.3V: +3.30 V in1: +1.14 V (max = +2.04 V) in2: +0.86 V in3: +0.94 V in4: +1.10 V in5: +0.89 V in6: +0.72 V 3VSB: +3.31 V Vbat: +3.22 V fan1: 1138 RPM fan2: 1075 RPM fan3: 0 RPM ALARM fan4: 0 RPM ALARM temp1: +89.6°F (high = +185.0°F, hyst = +177.8°F) (crit = +122.0°F, hyst = +114.8°F) sensor = transistor temp2: +98.6°F (high = +185.0°F, hyst = +177.8°F) (crit = +212.0°F, hyst = +204.8°F) sensor = transistor temp3: FAULT (high = +158.0°F, hyst = +154.4°F) (crit = +185.0°F, hyst = +181.4°F) sensor = transistor adt7473-i2c-4-2e Adapter: NVIDIA i2c adapter in1: +2.99 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +2.99 V) +3.3V: +3.25 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +4.38 V) fan1: 3121 RPM (min = 0 RPM) fan2: 0 RPM (min = 0 RPM) fan3: 0 RPM (min = 164 RPM) ALARM fan4: 0 RPM (min = 0 RPM) temp1: +152.6°F (low = +149.0°F, high = +185.0°F) ALARM Board Temp: +136.4°F (low = +68.0°F, high = +140.0°F) temp3: +152.6°F (low = +176.0°F, high = +221.0°F) ALARM Thank you in advance. ![]()
