geoforce 6200a problem with acer lcd

i cannot install the latest geoforce 6200 drivers with my acer 20" lcd monitor using dvi or vga on windows xp w service pack 3. the screen just sits there and tries to automatically adjust to a perfect resolution. but then you cannot see anything to use your keyboard. if you let it sit long enough, the pc will reboot on its own.

can anyone please offer any suggestions?

i apparently fixed this issue myself. but i had to update the driver from the device manager and manually point it to the nvidia display folder on my drive. then with only what seems to be the driver installed, i can change to 1600 x 900 resolution but only after i change my hardware video acceleration to none and disable write combining. wtf?

and also i think my video card is ****, 128mb and in need of upgrade. but i would think you tube and other video sites would look halfway decent on this video card?

a GF 6200 is a bottom video card. It was weak when it came out and now it's old on top of it.
If it starts giving you problems, just get a new one, it will be cheap and you will be much better.
