Re: Change to NVIDIA UNIX Graphics Driver version format
From what we see here can we expect a new driver release soon?
Maybe a 100.20 release :) |
Re: Change to NVIDIA UNIX Graphics Driver version format
along with the release, are there any official (or unofficial) features that are planned for the new driver release?

However, can you give some indication of the following: a: what the timeline for the switch of 96xx and 71xx to the new naming format will be? b: will the 974x drivers be brought into this new format or will they be dropped in favor of the new driver? c: will all drivers be released with the new format at the same time? d: will the previous driver naming schemas be available for download along with the new names as a transitional option, or will the switch be instant? e: will the installer method remain basically the same in terms of nvidia-installer functionality, installer arguments, syntax, and so on. thanks for any further information, we'd like to get these changes integrated as seamlessly as we can into our current methods, ideally completely transparently to the end users. |
Re: Change to NVIDIA UNIX Graphics Driver version format
gfxdrone,
I'm afraid that we do not currently have a firm timeframe for the next 96xx & 71xx legacy driver branch releases. 1.0-97xx are considered the latest release, and will be replaced by the next driver release (which will be 1xx.yy.zz eventually). The new numbering will occur with the first 1xx.yy.zz driver release. The installation process will remain unchanged. Thanks, Lonni |
Re: Change to NVIDIA UNIX Graphics Driver version format
Will the 100 series provide TV-in support? I feel like we've waited so long that such a landmark series number should introduce a vital and long wished-for application.

Re: Change to NVIDIA UNIX Graphics Driver version format
TV-in support is not currently scheduled for a specific release.
